A tin of mints changed into storage for cogs and bits.

Inside the tin

I needed some storage for little cogs, clock hands and steam punk bits and bobs. I love the M&S strong mints and had an empty tin. I covered the sides, including inside with tissue tape. I embossed black kraft core card with the gears TH folder and sanded it down before inking. I made a label, heat embossed with a TH plane blue print stamp plus bits I will keep in the box.
I am going to submit the box to Hels Change Challenge.

Whew, what a wet weekend for Spring Bank holiday. Luckily we had nothing planned so I could spend time in the attic. The rain made me think about our recent adventures in the Tropical Rainforest, North Queensland in Australia. Yes it rains all the time in the forest, drip, drip, drip. We were way out of our comfort zone and had never experienced anything like it before! The noise of animals, birds, frogs and insects was deafening at night.
We stayed at Mungumby Lodge, Black Mountains, Cooktown. A frontier place a few kilometres from the road. We travelled down an unsealed, dirt road, crossing flooded creeks to get there. It was a beautiful place and we stayed in the lodge where David Attenborough had slept during his stay.
I created a scrap page of our lodge.
I used green Prima paper for the background with masked, inked kraft card. I layered and sewed them together. I used a TH stamp, embossed with white Wow powder. The title is die cut and glossy accented. The journalling is handwritten on the tags.
I will submit my design to 1-2-3 May challenge. I used Green paper, the word Time and journalling in my design.
Hope you like it.

Brown eyes card envelope

Brown Eyes envelopeI decided to make an envelope to go with the Brown Eyes card I made for my son. I kept the centre clear for the name whilst I inked the envelope with DI tea stain then pumice and weathered wood. I layered stencils using stormy sky. I stamped ( without a block), Paperartsy cogs, words and postage stamp in black archival. I found a collage postage clear stamp in my stash and added that. Finally, I stamped splats and heat embossed more cogs with wow opaque white powder. I was quite pleased with the effect.
I will submit the envelope to Hels challenge “Don’t it make my brown eyes blue.”

Glitter Prom Dress Tag

I made the Prom Dress tag to submit to the Tim Holtz Compendium of Curiosities 3 Challenge at CC3Challenge.com. There are great prizes from Funkie Junkie.
I am not a glitter person and this was my second idea, the first idea was a disaster! However I enjoyed making the dress. I layered the tag with TH stencils using DI, picked raspberry, pumice, tea dye and Victorian velvet. The glitter. I used for the dress and the buttons was clear rock candy. The roses were dyed with picked raspberry stain and the ribbon with vic velvet stain. The “stuff to say” stamp was heat embossed with wow pastel pink.
Hope you like it! XGlitter Prom Dress

Inspired by Hels Sheridan new challenge I made a birthday card for my son, he has brown eyes!

Inspired by Hels Sheridan new challenge I made a birthday card for my son, he has brown eyes!

I used Kraft cordinations to emboss TH gears folder and then sanded the blue to brown. The image was stamped in sepia and embossed with clear powder. I distress inked with salty Ocean, faded jeans, china blue, stormy sky and a hint of peacock feathers. I added gears and a jeans button, still attached to denim. The letters were stamped and glossy accented, the circles were bronze distress paint as were the fake brads. Hope you like it!

Every girl should have a puddle!

I was inspired to make this birthday card when I saw Penny’s flamingo.

It is Arabella’s first birthday next week. She loves water, bath, puddles, pools and really enjoys splashing. I was inspired to make the card when I saw Penny’s flamingo on Paperartsy Blog, it made me laugh. I made the puddle circles from card then stamped and coloured the images before sticking them in place. I think Arabella will like the card.

Fond Memories of Paris

I have fond memories of visiting Paris with my husband on Valentines Day a few years ago. I created this small page to fit into a circle journal, it has a slit pocket and a tag book which slides inside. I will enter the challenge at A Vintage Journey this month.
I used Tim Holtz Frech Script stamp on white card in sepia. I inked Peeled Paint on to the Eiffel Tower folder and embossed the card through my Big Shot. I cut a slit and inserted a craft card pocket made from OTE Bracket die. I die cut tags, stamped, inked and used stickers for the images. I wrote my fondest memories on the back. ( I really want to teurn to Paris after making this!) the tags were joined with peeled paint stained crinkle ribbon.
I really enjoyed this challenge.
