California Dreaming

When I was thinking about the new challenge, Home Sweet Home, over at A Vintage a Journey I had the song “California Dreaming” swirling round my head. That started some thoughts about a tag for the Destinations folder!

My Found Relative is dreaming of her home in California, living across the world she wonders if she will ever see her Home Sweet Home?

I die cut Tim’s tag from white stamping card then stamped the map across the top using Archival because I wanted to put elements of the USA flag over it. I used Tim’s Stars layering stencil with Distress Embossing ink and then used clear powder to heat emboss.

Faded Jeans DI was the perfect colour to reveal the stars! Love this technique!

Next I used a zigzag stencil to represent the lines on the flag. Clear heat embossed again and then used Festive Berries DI.

I stamped with Stazon black using other stamps from the world set.

I was going to use the sailor as my Found Relative but thought this girl was wistful and her blue dress matched the tag. She is thinking of her home in California, across the world. She fits into a photo slot punch in the corner. Some silver stars, tissue tape and map charm finish the tag with some chit chat stickers.

I used DI markers to colour the ribbon, spritzed and crinkle dried. A quick blast of Picket Fence marker highlighted the red.

I hope you like my take on Home Sweet Home, I enjoyed making the tag. Always inspired by Tim’s techniques and products.
